Obtained information for research project on cross cultural communication and virtual reference.

Spring-Summer 2005 Website Consultant, Indiana University Graduate School:
Worked with Erika Biga, M.A., Communications Director, to construct and improve the web-based Housing Bulletin Board of the Graduate and Professional Student Organization, using HTML and PHP computer languages(http://ella.slis.indiana.edu/~xxxxxxxx/gpsohousing.html). Installed feedback mechanisms into the website, allowing renters to input their preferences.

Spring-Summer 2005 Website Consultant, Congregation Beth Shalom, Bloomington, IN:
Helped upgrade congregation website, using Frontpage and Calendar software for scheduling and website maintenance.

Spring 2005 Reference Consultant, School of Library and Information Science, Indiana University:
Collaborated with Dean Debora Shaw to organize research collection of Professor of Sociology Alan Grimshaw.

Spring 2005 Cataloguer, Indiana University Department of History and Philosophy of Science, Indiana University: Assisted Jutta Schickore, staff member, using Microsoft Access, to create a database detailing the holdings of the departmental library.

Winter-Fall 2005 Database Designer and Client Services Assistant, State of Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Bloomington, IN: Assisted Ury Shachaf, Disability Navigator, inputting client data into the CS3 employment system and other systems to increase client employability, writing webpages, usability testing job search programs, making presentations, writing resumes, and meeting with clients to determine their needs and assist them, arranging client services and accommodations, referring clients to social service agencies and other state agencies for assistance, transporting clients and advocating for clients with other state agencies and the Bloomington community, and meeting with service providers to train them in providing services to people with disabilities and help them best design programs for patrons.

August, 2003-present Reference Assistant, Business/SPEA Library, Indiana University:
Have provided comprehensive reference service to library patrons, using business databases, searching the internet and the university catalog, discerning source availability.

Fall, 2002-present Resarch Assistant, Indiana University Bloomington
Provided research assistance to Professor Dina Spechler, Department of Political Science, IU Bloomington, and Professor Martin Spechler, Department of Economics, IU Bloomington, to assist their research and find books, articles, and websites related to politics, economics, economic development, Central Asia, Russia, and the former Soviet Union and assisted their work with collaborators from Russia and the former Soviet Union.

--Researcher for Janet Everly, M.S., O.T.R. on her Ed.D. dissertation regarding auditory dysfunction and college choice. Located websites and articles pertaining to the topic (2004-2005).

    Served as both corepresentative and representative from the Master's of Library Science program to the Indiana University Graduate and Professional Student Organization. Heard student concerns, wrote documents, worked cooperatively with other graduate students on issues of common interest and expressed those issues to faculty, staff, and administrators.

    American Library Association Student Chapter webmaster, Indiana University, Spring 2004-Fall 2005:

    Updated, changed, and redesigned the Indiana University American Library Association Student Chapter website; helped to recruit new members. Resized and put up pictures of events using HTML and Microsoft Office Pictures Manager (ella.slis.indiana.edu/g/alasc/index.html).
