    ok, i have another question.  When I type createuser nkidd, i get
this error--

Connection to database 'template1' failed.
connectDB() failed: Is the postmaster running and accepting connections
at 'UNIX Socket' on port '5432'?
createuser: database access failed.

any suggestion?
