Suso, I untarred the ssh.tar.gz files. Then I ran the commands ./configure, make, and make install. Next I ran ssh-keygen. However, I really do not see what all this is supposed to do. I read the help files and am still a little lost to say. Am I not correctly installing ssh, and/or is there other steps that must be done. Also, I did all this as root, put the keys in /root/.ssh/nkidd (wasn't sure of what identity was, put nkidd). The keys were generated. However nothing seems different. I logged into a remote machine and then from that one I even logged back into my own machine and the ssh password was never asked for? thanks, nick
