15000 days of Unix epoch time - January 26th, 2011

Soon we will pass over the 15000th day of unix epoch time. This will happen on January 26th, 2011. Unix epoch time started on January 1st, 1970 and is a measurement of the seconds since that date. Epoch days are a measure of the days since that date.

You can calculate the current epoch day from a bash shell like this:
